Ken and Lynne Waters
Ken and Lynne Waters live in La Crosse, WI and have enjoyed the beauty and opportunities of this part of the country. Because they enjoy natures beauty and feel a connection to the earth, Ken and Lynne discovered a philosophy of life that made sense to them. They were introduced to the road walked by the ancestors of the Native American people for thousands of years. From this journey they found the beauty of the flute. The music of the flute comes from the heart and soul of the player. Ken is a retired process engineer with much experience designing machinery for various types of production. He has a back ground in tool and die design and building. With this background he designed his own fixtures to create various size flutes. He presently builds flutes with a 1" and 3/4" bore and will be adding a 1 1/8" and 7/8" bore size by July of '03. Lynne is a family therapist with a little background in playing the clarinet. She aids the process of finishing the flute by being the "tuner." For about 3 hours, note by note, hole by hole, she determines when Ken has the right diameter of hole for the desired pitch. Two tuners are used for precise tuning. It is their goal to have a flute that plays easily and is tuned to concert grade standards. |
